My Sexiest Man Alive

Okay People magazine, EAT YOUR HEART OUT!
This is my hottie husband, Randy.
Yep, he's a country boy, through and through.
This is our love story:
We've known each other pretty much our whole lives,
thanks to the small Christian school we both attended,
but we didn't start dating until the summer before my senior year of high school.
Randy was madly in love with my sister, Randi.
He used to call our house, trying to get her to talk to him,
and I always ended up on the phone with him.
From those phone calls,
a friendship developed which blossomed into love.
Randy and I were married in February of 2007,
9 months after her graduated from high school.
(Yes, he's almost 2 years younger than me!
I am SUCH a cougar! Rawr!)
Everyone thought we were too young and super crazy,
and trust me,
we still have our days when we believe them.
But, I seriously could not imagine my life without this boy.
He is my heart.
My best friend.
My confidant.
My calm in the midst of every storm.
We both know that as long as we never give up
and commit to making this thing work,
we will be together forever and ever.
Amen.

My Little Princess

On April 8, 2009
my husband and I were blessed with our first child,
Emma Grace.
This little girl is the light of my life.
I love being a stay home mom.
I love getting to be there for every milestone,
every laugh, and every tear.
I see a lot of both Randy and I in her.
I often joke that,
"She is a tiny girl
with two very strong personalities shoved in her!"
This is so true!
She is just like me, because:

  • She is goofy.
  • She loves to dance and sing.
  • She makes some of the silliest faces.
  • She is busy...ALL THE TIME!

She is just like her dad, because:

    • She likes to pester.
    • She is ornery.
    • She loves the outdoors.
    • You ALWAYS know what she's thinking.

She is just like both of us, because:

    • She is strong willed.
    • She is independent.
    • She is stubborn.

Yes, she is our daughter, through and through.
      She makes us smile.
She makes us laugh out loud.
      She warms out hearts.
      She completes our little family.

      Randi, The Funny One

      Meet Randi.
She is the sister closest to me in age.
We are only 17 months apart.
It is rumored that when my parents
brought her home from the hospital,
      I ran around screaming.
In excitement? In fear? In pure pissed-offness?
      No one knows.
      We used to fight. ALOT.
Our childhood, middle school and high school years
were full of bloody battles, screaming wars,
and the desire to be rid of each other.
But, then our parents got a sense of humor.
They made us share a room and even a bed for a while!
      The fighting continued,
but an alliance slowly began to form.
      The rest is history.

      • I got to know my husband, because of her.
      • I finally got up the guts to sneak out, because of her.
      • I got kicked out of my parent's house, because of her.
      • I tried my first alcoholic beverage a week before my 21st birthday, because of her
      • I love karaoke, because of her.
      • I have a gorgeous nephew, because of her.

She is my best girl friend.
        She always makes me smile,
and she can get me to do anything.
        ANYTHING.
        She is gorgeous.
        Did I mention, she's funny?!
        Because she is. Seriously.
        I love this girl.
        I love her A LOT!

        Kasie, The Drama Queen.

        Meet Kasie, pronounced (Kay-cee).
Kasie is five years younger than me,
and will be turning the BIG 2-1 this summer!
        Woohoo!
Kasie and I's relationship developed more
after I was out of high school.
I have always been closer to Randi,
because we are closer in age,
but once I got out of high school and Kasie made her debut
        as a 9th grade debutant.
We started to have more in common.
        Kasie is our drama queen.
Trust me, you should hear this girl tell a story!
I mean she can make a story
about how her milk curdled interesting.
        I'm not kidding.
But, you know, that's why we love her.
Kasie teaches me everyday about being real.
She's as real as they come.
        She is fearless.
        She is gorgeous.
        She is quirky.
She is one of those girls
who would do anything for her friends.
        Anything.
        I love this girl.
        LOVE HER

        Faith, The Baby Sister.

        Meet Faith. The baby.
Seriously. She is 13 years younger than me.
I often joke that Faith is my oldest child.
My mother relied on me a lot as a teenager,
and while I resented it then,
I would not change the relationship
I have with this girl for anything.
        Faith is almost 13,
and everyday I see us creeping up on
        the psychotic teenager phase.
        I'm so excited. NOT.
But, I do feel blessed that I get to be here.
        To walk her through it.
To remind her that we all were a little crazy,
and yes, even our parents were teenagers once.
Faith reminds me so much of myself.

        • She is super quirky (just like me).
        • She will laugh at anything and everything (just like me).
        • She is sensitive (just like me).
        • She has a good heart (just like me).
        • She is a beautiful girl on her way to becoming a beautiful young woman (JUST LIKE ME!...okay, maybe, not so much).

She knows how to make me laugh
and the bond we have goes way deeper than just being sisters.
Yep, I happen to love this girl too.
          She's the greatest.
